On May 15th 2025, Rep. Al Green (TX-09) filed a single article of impeachment alleging Trump has “devolved democracy within the United States into authoritarianism” and citing numerous instances in which Trump has violated orders of the court. The resolution currently has one cosponsor, Rep. Shri Thanedar.

Rep. Green has stated publicly that he intends to invoke Rule IX forcing a vote on his resolution in the coming weeks, and he continues to work closely with Citizens’ Impeachment and our allies on the progression of his resolution.
